Want to replace your missing teeth and improve your quality of life?
Loosing teeth does not only adversely affect someone’s appearance but often leads to embarrassment, loss of confidence and a reduction in the quality of life.
What is the solution?
Dental implants are becoming a common procedure to replace missing teeth, or provide stability to a new or existing denture. A dental implant is a titanium “root” used in dentistry to support tooth restorations.
What is a dental implant?
A dental implant can be thought of as an artificial tooth root that is submerged into the jawbone. When dental work such as a crown, fixed bridge or a full set of dentures is added, one or more missing teeth can be replaced.
What are they made of?
A dental implant is fabricated from a very strong, biocompatible material placed into the jaw during a surgical procedure. Dental Osseo-integrated dental implants are generally made of pure Type 4 Commercial grade Titanium rather than a Titanium alloy which has other metal ions present. Titanium is inert and will not produce a foreign body reaction. This is the reason pure Titanium is favoured. Implants can be placed in the jaw under local anaesthetic in the dentist’s chair or under general anaesthetic in a day surgery unit.
