Bone Grafts

Have you lost bone structure due to infection?

What do bone grafts involve?

Bone grafts involve the use of either the patient’s own bone or other bone graft materials to assist the body to regenerate bone where it has been destroyed through infection.

Such grafts are often required around dental implants when they are placed in the jaw after bone loss has taken place.

The graft is usually left for 4-6 months and eventually the graft will become solid bone.
